one more quiltie

"Quilties are simply small quilts varying in size from about 4 x 4 till about 15 x 15. They are also known as miniature quilts.
Like larger quilts, quilties consist of 3 layers. Traditionally these used to be top of the quilt (cotton fabric), batting (wadding in U.K.) and the backing of the quilt (also cotton fabric). In quilties you can make the middle layer a single sheet of muslin, Fast2Fuse, any kind of interfacing or indeed paper. The backing for quilties can be fabric or paper if you like to make things stiffer. The backing is also the place for your name, email address and other contact information plus web and/or blogsite."

Min nya quilties är till salu i min Etsy shop

Ihave done one more quilties, this time a bit larger; 6" x 6" or 15cm x 15" Many people have asked me about what quilties is? When I first heard about it was last atumn when I took a onlineclass for Lenna Andrews "mini art fabric book" there we called our small miniquilts for quilties. You can see my earlier posts of my fabric book here

Gunnel!
I love all of the wonderful texture in your work and the way that you use all of the little bits and pieces of fabrics and trims!!!
I was also visiting your Flickr site and I especialy like your quilt called The Ladies!! i love the way that you used such bold colors and how you let the fabric drap over the bottom corner and edge like a filmy fancy dress! The quilt titled New Miniquilt - the one with the stones and the water is amazing!! I have always loved beach stones and collect lots of them and I have had a similar piece to yours in my mind for a bit. Your work really speaks to me and I am so pleased that we have found each other over the internet!!
Big Hugs!
